Sanae is pretty damn fun to watch amd much more active than almost everyone.

Sanae is an outsider so she has no previous knowledge on how Gensokyo works and as such she has perfect excuse to have the inner workings of Gensokyo introduced to her and the reader (as opposed to native Gensokyans who already know), while also providing similes to the real world that us, the readers, can understand. She has outgoing personality, is highly curious and fascinated with Gensokyo, which gives her a strong drive to keep meeting new youkai, whereas her talkative personality makes her more fitting for extended dialogue with other characters as opposed to relatively quiet and antisocial Reimu. Her shock about youkai eating humans and her living goddess pride also make her interactions with youkai more personal as well as set her up as fully pro-human protagonist. Finally, she has a strong reason to *keep* resolving incidents even after being taught the ropes of Gensokyo, because the survival of her two goddesses depends on her hard work.

In short, she combines Reimu's sense of personal duty (which is made evident from her enthusiastic reaction to Sagume's request) and Marisa's unbridled curiosity and outgoing personality in one character, giving her two different driving forces for resolving incidents. And ZUN made it clear that he made her that way so she doesn't blend in easily and can show up in any storyline with no problems (en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Strange_Creators_of_Outer_World/Who%27s_Who_of_Humans_%26_Youkai_in_Gensokyo/Sanae_Kochiya) - as opposed to Sakuya, whose behavior is fundamentally "The Mistress is my top priority" (en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Strange_Creators_of_Outer_World/Who%27s_Who_of_Humans_%26_Youkai_in_Gensokyo/Sakuya_Izayoi) - the mentality that also a big part of the personalities of Youmu and Reisen as well, making Sanae more suitable for resolving incidents than those two as well.

The only correct answer. Sanae fans just want to coexist with the rest of the board, spread Sanae's cheerfulness and worship her without being flooded by shitposts. They don't even attack other religionhus and their love usually extends over the entire Moriya family.

I also like Meiling's fanbase though. Just like the character itself, it's impossible to dislike them.

That is the very reason I cannot and will not fully identify with /jp/, ever. Memes are funny if used ironically, but it doesn't make *anyone* happy when you start to unironically use them as plain slander. Especially towards the character that deserives it the least.

Literally all of her threads as of late are overrun by secondary faggots and I haven't had any motivation to create a quality one as of late. I suppose I must thank you for doing so, then.

Two extermination trips aren't *that* impressive compared to Reimu and Marisa, but sure, she has time to develop and ZUN already fleshed out her a lot (compare her initial personality versus the one from UFO onwards, with quirks such as alien photos, knowledge of cold fusion and interest in mechas), so I expect a lot from her in next games.
