born again children of God (christians) get punished on earth by God for their sins just like parents discipline their children. They can never go to hell, but if they keep sinning, and commit big sins like murder, God can just take them to heaven earlier than their time. how you live have nothing to do with your salvation as eternal life is a free gift. all the work and obedience is for rewards and avoiding chastisement on earth, you can't work your way to heaven.

It's possible to sin and have little or no works after you get saved because we have free will and sinful flesh. We are all sinners and can't stop sinning. But if you sin after you get saved and become a born again child of God, God punishes us here on earth as parents would punish their children. So God can wreck your life or even call you to heaven early if you do really bad sins, but your soul can never go to hell to suffer the second death after you die, because all your sins are covered by the blood of Christ. It's like that famous saying if you live twice you will die once, but if you live once you will die twice.
