これはそこらで簡単に手に入る物じゃない

So exactly what is 手に doing in this sentence? I can read this as the subject not being a simple thing to 入る but is the 手に just there to tell me that 入る is supposed to be "hold on to" and not "join" or "enter" because it's hand?

If not what is it doing here?
