It's just classic American exceptionalism. What's sad is Japan actively denying its own identity by removing tons of pop culture from a large perimeter around the stadium and hotels where tourists will reside. Hosting the Olympics was the hardest cultural blow Japan has ever taken. There are Western docus about school girls handing out flyers and the store owners actually called the police to remove those 'journalists' from their premise. There's a shady (((guy))) named Jake Adelstein who cried on camera because 'those evil Japs abuse the poor girls'. He sits in Tokyo and dedicated his life to forcing girls to stop girls from shortening their skirts. It's already a huge crusade to ban everything from hentai manga, to gravure, to even let females under 18 work in Akihabara at all, even in maid cafes. The Japanese government needs to grow a spine.
