I agree with you, but the problem is that the imokano MC is a fucking retard. The "answer" he wants to find is picrel. He does explain why he doesn't choose to abandon his parents and society: he thinks his sister would not be happy, would crumble under the pressure and guilt, and eventually kill herself.

But the thing is, he "thinks" that. He never communicates with his sister. He doesn't explain to her what he's doing, let alone try to find a solution together. But this is by design, it's explicitly stated as one of his character flaws and is the cause of all the drama. While it does approach the difficulties of incestual love from a realistic perspective, it's more of a story about someone who can't deal with that kind of challenge.
