I actually think if Rena gets that promise in every world, or knows about it through some supernatural means, it could explain that odd scene in Tataridamashi, where her reaction to Keiichi asking about Satoshi and the curse was changed from Tatarigoroshi. In the VN she starts going on about the curse and how some people don't believe in it but it's real, but in Gou she just stays silent with shadowy eyes and then leaves.

The different reaction could be due to her being in direct contact with "Oyashiro-sama", so she'd have a different view on the curse. On the other hand, I think her reaction at the end of the arc shows she isn't a looper and doesn't get Satoko's full intentions.
