I've always made the blockquote of each persons post a max size, mainly to deal with shitty DESU spammers of yesterdecades, but kept it around.
Downside is it occasionally causes weird word-wrapping, and it fucked with large ASCII art / SJIS, but if that were the case I'd just disable it for that thread.
