I think I connected more with Shinji Ikari than I ever did with Takumi. It wasn't that Shinji necessarily didn't want to associate with others, he simply didn't know how so rather than try and screw up and get hurt he didn't bother at all. Takumi was just kind of screwed up and off the wall. Plus he had an achingly cute sister who he mostly ignored.

I'm at chapter 4...and I can't handle Takumi. I don't know if I can continue to stand listening to another broken whimper, another sob or another retarded mumble.

Okay, he's a borderline hikki and very introverted. We get it. But even clinically derranged shut-ins can at least fake a hello or a goodbye with stuttering and shaking with barely contained terror. This guy is the comic-book extreme, and therefore I have a hard time feelimg empathy for his plights.

And if his freakishly exaggerated fright and anxiety weren't enough -- he's a COMPLETE FUCKING RETARD! It's like every time there is some sort of important plot development I have to endure a dozen lines of Takumi frantically sobbing and whining in a paniced daze -- and then he'll completely and utterly missintepresent, fail to notice, or otherwise confuse the thing h just witnessed. It's not that he's doing the Higurashi thing of forming logcal conclusions based on his own fear and fake perceptions, he is rather just making comically retirded conclusions about facts and chosing tofreak out (in the most hardocre prison bitch spaz way immaginable). The only way he can arrive at a truth is by having it slowly spoon-fed to him by other characters.

Why do the japanese think we want to play such shitty comicbook characters? Fuck this game is seriously losing me.

I'm not kidding when I say that this is possibly the poorest eroge adaption in the fetid, sordrid anals of shitty eroge adaptions. Wow. Wow. Just wow. Not that the game is exactly a work of literary art, but it at least conveys a minimal sense of dread and a feeling for the protagonist's loney existence. This anime takes what little accomplishment the game manages, smashes it to bits and shits all over it. Character design and art direction is shit and the pacing is a irreedemable mess.

Join me in a throwing this pos into the garbage and just continue playing the game.
