What to do if Anki on android is starting to slow down for me? Sometimes if I press the grade too fast after flipping the card, it remains on that card instead of showing the next one, and it overall feels more sluggish (other side of cards appear slower, not instantly)

Your first VN doesn't really matter. Just pick any slice of life VNs or even nukige, you're gonna encounter basically the same grammar and same words, so just pick something that looks nice to you. Obviously you can tell from the plot synopsis whether it's some very complex sci-fi stuff or just normal people going to high school, or someone fucking his mother. You can imagine the difficulties involved with each.
