The Onigari-no-ryuuou has been set up as a weapon of absolute last resort, for when Rika absolutely sees no other options left to her, not something to be used right away. Rika only really has one chance to pull it on Satoko, but I really cannot imagine her using it right on the very next loop, as casually murdering Satoko isn't something the little meeper is capable of at this point. She'd still need to struggle much more until stabbing her best friend to permadeath starts looking like an appealing option.
And the manga has already been "the anime, but less retarded" in a lot of ways, so actually capitalizing on Eua spicing up the game by simply *not* doing something seems like something Tomato could do. It wouldn't even be Eua interfering, just her withholding a little information, which would be entirely in character.
Of course, it's just as plausible that Satoko does know about the sword and Rika knowing, and is purposely letting Rika fight back instead of continuing the Nekodamashi murder spree where Rika doesn't even get a chance to do anything, all in order to give Rika just enough hope before breaking her entirely. Both options are plausible to me.

Meguri is explicitly billed as having different solutions than the anime, and even went with a different name. It would be a quite a disappointment if they really were just 90% identical, as the end result of Onidamashi and Watadamashi are almost identical to the anime, with only Tataridamashi being notably different. The finale of Meguri will likely end similarly, but there's more than enough room to enable differing answer arcs from the damashi loops.
