the shitiness of the US doesn't compare to the bad things in Japan, and I would gladly trade up wagie life here in the states if it means I get to live in a vastly safer country. I'd rather work insane hours (something I've done before) than worry that one day some crazy fucker will shoot my ass randomly. I hate this country so fucking much.
it's a matter of different values. Japanese grow up accustomed to life in Japan--they take it for granted and think it's the norm, and so they look towards other countries to spice their lives, and they'll love it--till some crazy shit happens that makes them think twice about living in a western shithole. the values and culture that is present in Japan is something I don't take for granted because it has things that are not present and are sorely needed here in the west.
