Rougly this. When character is standing straight their body proportions can be counted in amount of "heads". Generally people draw either 6 or 7 heads tall, with certain parts being in certain "sector". This isn't foolproof and obviously doesnt help with more dynamic poses, but its a very good starting point to get general feel for proportions. There are hundreds versions of this picture but it should give you the idea.

Its a bit hit of miss but try using this as reference. In general i draw average thickness of arm to be roughly 1/4th of waistline give or take a bit. Try to measure thickness and use support lines until it clicks with you.
