I don't have any experience, but it is probably better than a phone because you can write with a stylus instead of a finger.

I posted yesterday that I started weight lifting recently and do my Anki reps while I'm resting between sets. Once my finger gets sweaty it starts kind of sticking to the screen and makes writing harder, so everything just looks like scribbles.
