Amakusa totally is a potential love interest for Ange
They have plenty of chemistry in episode 4, and his call with Okonogi in the episode 7 ??? implied he had doubts about whether or not he should assassinate Ange. Amakusa even suggested she should abandon her fortune and be free on his own.
When Kasumi's men bullied Ange he shot them all dead before they could do anything more to her, even though it'd be easier for him if they took care of Ange themselves as was planned.
And the Twilight manga revealed a man who looks exactly like Amakusa to still be working for Ange in her life as an author, so they never parted ways.
