There are many things you should try to appreciate in life, including your family, your home, people whom you've known your whole life long, amongst other things. You should always remember that even though other countries can have odd differences, they won't necessarily be so different that one will seem like heaven and the other one like hell in comparison to each other. It's ok to have some interest in Japanese culture (or any other culture), but always try to keep your image of it within healthy, reasonable limits.
