Was this written by a real japanese person or your usual american journalist? I see MANY seiyuus (even outside Love Live) that smile with their teeth showing. Even Sayurin does it in her pics. There are fans that really love their smiles. I don't see how this "frowned upon" in Japan. I can totally get behind the misaligned teeth though. I've been through that and to this day, I still have that phobia.
