Takos can only interact with their environment through telekinesis and communication is done via telepathic hivemind, this is facilitated by the halo's power.
Takos are actually formerly human cultists who've had their brains removed and placed in a vessel of Shoggoth matter
The reason for the Shoggoth body is that it acts as a limiter of sorts on how much of the halo's power the Tako can access, if a Tako is exposed to 100% of the halo's power then it immediately goes insane and dies

I think holoen is unique in that every girl is clearly on the spectrum, but they're all different brands of autism.
