My mom has finally decided I have to get a job or I'm out on my ass in 2009. She did the same thing with my older sister when she got her degree, so I know she's serious.

I'm pretty terrible working with people though. I have serious social anxiety issues. I also have no qualifications above high school level and zero job experience. 20 years old.

So I ask you, since some of you probably don't breastfeed anymore...what sort of jobs are tolerable with as close to zero social contact as possible?

tl;dr: What job do you do/can I do that won't make me have panic attacks and shut myself in my room.

My mom brought some Army recruiter to our house today, and we got to talking and he said my Japanese language ability (conversational and intermediate writing) would mean there's a good chance I could be shipped over to Japan in a non-combat role like translator, or in a job that would mean I spent my time behind a computer.

Not to mention:

- Free food
- Free place to live (IN JAPAN)
- Decent wage (all of which is disposable)

As far as I can see it, there are no drawbacks to my plan, which is why I'm concerned

Lonely is when you want human contact, but for whatever reason you can't/don't get any

Knowing I have social anxiety disorder, my mom's friend got me a job at a slaughterhouse, I start next week.

Should be pretty good, pretty much everyone else there only speaks mexican.

Hopefully nobody will try and talk to me, a panic attack in such an environment could be dangerous

My mom is all "you need to get a job by the end of summer" and I'm all "ok ok"

I need a job that has the least human interaction possible. I have no qualifications worth mentioning, and having to talk to more than one person terrifies me. I'm 24.
