I've always wondered why the Yukkurisa was kinda smiling to the side.

According to thread 961029:

In the factory, adult yukkuris are positioned in a way so the newborn is ejected towards a pit upon birth

this is a traumatic process for the mother because it remembers what will happen after that

That being said, it is not uncommon for fellow factory yukkuri breeders to laugh upon and enjoy the misery of other yukkuri breeders.
