I've been studying for nearly ten years now and I can imitate the standard accent pretty well IMO. (About the best gauge is that I am more and more frequently getting the WTF YOU'RE A GAIJIN?!? response from people I've talked to on the phone/intercom when they see me for the first time.)

I know that my chances aren't great, even assuming that my voice is good enough to pass and my paper application doesn't get chucked with a "lol no" the moment they see my photos. But why not take that chance?

I was wondering what kind of shitstorm would go down in this thread if I made it, but that hasn't been the case. Thanks for being unexpectedly encouraging, /jp/. I'll post again if there are any interesting developments or when I eventually fail/succeed.

agreed, I fucking love Toko's voice.

Her seiyuu is super versatile, too. was pissed when I heard they had her playing one of the lead girls in Caucasus too, but from the voice samples they sound almost nothing alike.
