>tfw everything you have planned to write that would set the world on fire is on backlog
My backlog is either a very safe or dangerous place. Funny how things get pushed and kept there.

>deviation from KC canon
Practically speaking, in this context MGE is training wheels for creativity the same as any reference material people draw inspiration from. You could do the research and creative concept development yourself, but don't have to, or don't have to put a huge amount of effort in, because someone else already did. You get better mileage out of doing your own work before or after KC releases a base concept with illustration, but effort and it's his job much more than anyone else's interest.

What the thread does when it "deviates" like has been brought up is looks at the illustration, goes "MOE MOE KYUN" and starts writing fetish or just "girl" first and monster as an afterthought. Happens in all fiction, like dwarves that aren't written any different to humans.

That's not so much "creative deviation" and two extremes shouldn't be the only examples of deviance from a basic conceptual baseline. "I'm being unique!" isn't an excuse to hide from criticism the same as using greentext arrows for prose, or any writing, to devalue it isn't. If there's one thing people are good at it's deflection and self-loathing though, and they'll put more energy into it than it's worth trying to drag something out of, so things are just left to run their course.

At least personally they are. Sometimes you just watch things burn because everything will be fine.
