This is true so long as ZUN does Touhou. As soon as he stops (although I'd wish he just make it forever), it'll get old-hat within 5 years like everything else does.

Do people still have Haruhi, Arc, Saber, Konata etc as their waifus like was so common to see 5 years ago? Pretty much no one claims these today (although I should never understate the stubbornness of Saberfags). But for the moment, yep, Touhou's ideal not just because of constant new stuff but due to the community pumping the whole thing up 10x bigger.
