Sometimes we all just have to be thankful the people in our lives choose to talk to us, they don’t have to at all and can leave if they wanted to, so just thank them that they choose to have conversate with you. You never know when they don’t wanna talk to you anymore, just don’t take things for granted and make your time with them meaningful.

Isn't it a huge paradox how the otaku can survive and thrive in a culture like the Japanese one, that generally puts huge emphasis on maintaining a respectable face, even though they're always doing embarrassing things that others wouldn't be caught dead doing?
This honestly puzzles me.

Otaku seem to be a mystical thing on 4chan. All these perceptions of them here but none seem to capture the essence of otaku.

What is the truth about otaku? What are the myths?

Do people carry around their body pillows?

Are there people who dress in the stereotypical otaku fashion?

When you speak to people are they generally kind, talkative and accepting or are they cold, secretive and rude?

What are some current trends happening at the moment (fashion, culture, etc.)?

Will you get beat up if you wear a certain kind of cosplay?

Thank-you
