The term "Get over it" describes it better, if I were to lose someone dear to me, I certainly don't want to forget them and I certainly wont, but I will not let the pain harm me more than I want it to, I'll keep their memory at the same time of shielding my heart, if that makes any sense to you.
The exception to the rule is my one true eternal lover, in this case, to honor their memory I will gladly kneel in front of a shrine dedicated to them while UUUOOOOHHHHHing till the day I die, it is the only proper thing to do, after all and I'd expect them to do the same for me.
