I had so many bad ideas for the beginning of the end for Seija & Goro's stuff like:
- A cursed doll sent by future Goro
- Their partnership forming a sigil that's sentient, which would take the form of a coin with two sides.
- The SDM speaking in their ears
- Cursed channels in Goro's head optimizing to the extent that, under the SDM's influence as some 'magnification of a person's traits' starts talking to him about lingering feelings of betrayal and angst toward Seija which would of culminated in him telling it off since the connection between her and him only works so well because he holds a small grudge, so he knows his own feelings and is managing it.
I trashed most of them because they all involved introducing a new character in some form which I felt like took away from the rest of the plot or added flavor to the SDM which I feel like should be left a little nebulous. I also felt these didn't put enough focus on Seija and mis-balanced the character dynamic.
So glad I avoided introducing time travel as well.
In the end, I felt like it'd make sense that both of them would end up communicating with Hata at some point and 'non-existence' is fun to think about.
