seeing your tone suggests that you havent played Ikusa Megami Zero/Verita either, so if you want something more story centric they are suberb stuff in additition to good gameplay

And how good they are if you get the full games?
IM Zero pretty much essential if you want to fully understand Veritas story or not be confused as fuck in events of latter half of game. By Gameplay as its older its bit worse, but not much. It also has Fuck yeah Haisherra Hijack.

Genrin 1 is just avarage, most recommend reading that summary novel.

Genrin 2 is good tough, by plotwise and gameplay wise. It's also a lot like FIre Emblem with its gameplay.

well yeah, the language isn't that hard, and I'm not that good myself either yet. Just use something like TL Aggerator with AGTH to quickly look up kanjis that you don't know, thats what I usually do.

Small note tough, Zero kinda starts slow, well not that slow it just feels very generic until Haisherra appears for first time around mid point of chapter 2, after that it kinda spirals toward shit hits the fan direction pretty fast. Also Zero has sometimes pretty stupidly high random encounter rate that can sometimes get on nerves. But just bear with them.
Also Haisherra is FUCKING AWESOME character.
But hopefully you'll enjoy it all.

Best Eushully heroine, well there are other good ones in their games too tough, but Haisherra is still the best.
