>Being free to play means it has a larger audience of young players due to them not having access to independant spending. It's also great for vtubers/streamers because ranked multiplayer matches make for good content and, again, being free, means they aren't potentially making a lost income by streaming it over another game
>Constant events mean potential for "Unboxing streams" which are pretty popular in viewership for all audiences (See Matsuri's Apex Heirloom streams)
Basically it's a game that was pretty meh for the rest of the world, but perfect for a japanese audience due to a variety of it's features.
