I have two opportunities to go to Japan within the next two years:

Choice #1: Musashi University, Tokyo. A program my college runs that allows students enrollment in an East Asian Studies program along with a language program for a Semester. Is not very language intensive and does not help my major in any way. Science Majors in my University require equivalent of two full years of classes.

Choice #2: Chubu University, Kasugai City (near Nagoya). Requires one year or equivalent language education. Much more language intensive. The entire program is language.

Both include opportunities to explore Japan and its culture. I really want to go soon but I have a demanding major (Molecular and Cellular Biology) and I'm not sure if the Musashi program is the best use of my time.

What are your thoughts?
