New-ish player playing a mage: should I go for dragonscale or adamantium armor?

The increased PV on adamantium seems better, but maybe the resistances on dragonscale will be better in the long term? The Loss guide in the OP recommends I switch my weapons and gear to "adamantium and dragonscale" -- is that adamantium weapons and dragonscale armor? Or does it depend on my combat style?

So I was browsing the Elona+ sprite database, and noticed someone created some MGE sprites for the game, and typed the description in English instead of Japanese, so it probably wasn't from 2ch. How many of you guys play?
