I kind of doubt it really happened, but if it did, just treat it like any other potentially hazardous situation. Assess how much of a problem it really is... if you aren't in any danger from staying overnight, might as well just do that (and have some fun doing it).
If it would be dangerous in some way, assess methods for removing it (use bolt cutters on flimsy lock? hacksaw? call someone? break mask?)
