It's funny, because that's borderline uncanny. I get that certain monsters have their ears on their head, but not in the right place. I can just imagine being around a manticore or a Cheshire with short hair and being creeped out by their lack of "proper," ears.

The easy way out would just be to give them two sets of ears to avoid thinking about it too much. But someone mentioned on another board that having two sets of ears would make the hearing area/sensors/etc of the brain take up more space (do note that I am not an expert on how the brain works and I'm probably half remembering it). If that's true then one set of sensitive ears would be better than two sets of ears with human levels of hearing (or even one sensitive and one on par with humans).

It would be interesting to see it play out in any case.
