Of all the way to go, you picked the most soul breaking, futile and redundant one. Ofcourse, I'm not gonna say nobody can be successful by it, you can still reach somewhere , just that it is super retarded and make you hate anime and Japanese in general in the way.

There's no need for mining past very initial phase

All the vocabs and sentence forms will accumulate naturally by seeing them in material of interest, in text and with contexts
Rote memorization is arguably the worst way to obtain vocabulary

Also, you should DEFINITELY do handwriting in learning.
Especially for the frequent "what's this kanji" posters
Handwriting obviously enhances handwritten text recognition.
