I'm probably the wrong person to ask brudda, my Odyssey+ is an old fart and I fucked around with a plastic phone strap before I got it. But I'll try. Other than the obvious resolution, you want to consider:
>FOV
Field of view for the headset. Usually advertised as a certain figure (e.g. 110deg for most "1st gen" headsets) but in reality "effective" FOV was lower. The Odyssey+ was a standout in that dept, part of the reason I bought it, something like 101H/105V. Made the original Oculus Quest look like a pair of shitty binoculars in comparison.
I remember reading the Pimax actually lets you move the lenses forward and backwards, effectively changing the FOV.
>IPD
Inter-pupillary distance - how far the lenses are apart. Usually doesn't matter, but some headsets have limited or shitty adjustments. If you got Non Ohana eyes, you'll want to pay attention. I have a fairly average IPD and my eyes are nearly symmetrical, so it's not something I had to consider.

Those two are my biggest gripes with people busting a nut on the Cook Goggles before we know anything concrete about the specs. All we know is "maybe" resolution: ~3400. And Micro-OLED. That's it.
You could drop four grand or whatever obscene amount they want for it on them, or buy something else, and have the money left over for a new headset AND a GPU AND the fkn computer it goes in that'll be able to decode 12K video whenever it comes out, kek. We need bandwidth and storage to catch up so that they stop compressing the shit out of the video. Or AV1 to take off or something.
TL;DR If the Vision Pro is actually able to outresolve 8K video, it's a waste of money in $currentYear.

Anyways you can also use FOV and resolution to do funny math and get PPD (pixels per degree). Using my dinosaur as an example:
>105 vertical | 101 horizontal
>1600px | 1440px
>1600/105 | 1440/101
>15.2 PPD | 14.3 PPD
Call it 15.
Looking at video resolution, just take the height and divide it by 180 degrees, excluding weird shit like 190/200 degree videos for simplicity's sake.
>4K 2048/180 = 11.38 PPD
>5K 2700/180 = 15 PPD
Note that one.
>6K 3072/180 = 17.07 PPD
>8K 4096/180 = 22.76 PPD
Now you understand why the compression artifacts in FANZA's """8K""" bother me so much - I can't see any of the extra spatial detail anyways, 8K video outresolves my headset. If it fucking exists to begin with underneath all the low bitrate blur. It sure didn't look like it when I was pixel peeping both side by side at 100% on my monitor.
A clearer/less compressed/sharper 5-6K video will look better on this thing. Every time.

Now compare the headset with sitting ~2.5 ft away from a 27" 16:10 monitor: 61.3 PPD!

Some people get even more autistic about this: http://doc-ok.org/?p=1631

I don't know the specs of either off the top of my head, but I'd almost buy the Pimax out of principle to avoid having to deal with needing a fucking Facebook account to use something with cameras on it, that is strapped to my head, that I use to watch porn with my chinpo in my hand. No? Guarantee you Zuck has a "Lucius Fox in The Dark Knight" wall of displays showing him every Oculus-sir's cock. It's in the shape of a map of the world, and he can just walk over to and tap any countries little touch screen and get a live view of some dude's ji port. Guarantee it.

You like Kaho or no? She doesn't get much love around here. Not an underrated performer, kinda boring. But sexo.
