It is a matter of being incompatible. They obviously couldn't actually live together even if they could hang out in a more casual setting. That's pretty much being incompatible for an actual relationship.

The background of all Hinamizawa characters is boring and lacks any mysticism so far. Since they want this to been as a "good ending', the background of the kids seems utterly boring and empty too.

We know the village wide conspiracy doesn't exist either, so any time Keitaro worries about that it has no effect. All the intrigue and interesting new stuff is on the Polaris side.

I hope this is just because the Hinamizawa stuff will actually be tied to the villain reveal, and they're waiting for that before going into, reversing the original where we learn nothing about the conspiracy before Takano, but rather about Hinamizawa in order to write it off before the Takano reveal. But it also could just be that there will be nothing because this is a "good ending" and there are no secrets left on the Hinamizawa side.
