Humans can use incapacitating spells like sleep spells, paralysis spells, just as monsters can (and in the former era, such spells were effectively the only way to fight monsters that used "oath of pleasure" to make themselves unable to be harmed by attacks). They can also wield realm silver weapons effectively.

Harmless incapacitation is not a innate trait of mamono mana exactly, it's more that it responds strongly to desire and thus if the monster doesn't want to harm someone they won't. But in many cases it seems they still need special spells, abilities or realm silver weapons to incapacitate people harmlessly.

Oath of Pleasure (for reference)

>This incomparably powerful defensive spell is predicated upon a strong oath to abandon all resistance towards sexual pleasure in exchange for absolute defense against pain and shock. The mana membrane doesn't let attacks through, but when the caster receives pleasure, the mana of the defensive membrane dissipates, and it comes off. The effect of this spell is empowered by means of an “oath” to sacrifice something in exchange for something else, but even if an inma becomes more sensitive to pleasure dealt to her, all that does is make her enjoy sex even more. In the age of the former mamono lords, it was prevalent as a powerful spell that compelled men to have sex with inma. It's not impossible to magically dispel the defensive membrane, but “spell break (p.45)” is nonetheless mostly ineffective against inma, since they are a race that possesses ample mana, so dispelling it is not very realistic. For that reason, when men encountered inma during battles between humans and monsters in the age of the former mamono lords, they would flee at the sight of them, or, for instance, leave them be after neutralizing them with spells that don't cause pain, shock, etc. such as sleep inducing spells and so on. It is said that of all the monsters, inma had an extremely low mortality rate because they were mostly dealt with by avoiding fighting them.

The main property of realm silver is that it damages your spiritual energy rather than your physical body. The impression is then that it passes through organic matter (it can clash against armor and other weapons as normal), and assuming it doesn't need a cutting edge for this then drinking realm silver would just result in it oozing back out of your body and causing you to leak out essence from wherever it spilled out. Chances are you would be left too weak to move for some time.

Even if there were, wounds are far from the only means monsters use.

And no, blood loss wouldn't be an issue as most monsters that fight soldiers use mamono realm silver weapons. Said weapons are made from ore that works like normal against armor and such but does not inflict damage on the physical body, instead wounding the mana of the person and causing it to leak out (leading to weakness or even complete debilitation).

To clarify, the "mana barrier" is a reflexive action their bodies do during sex/amorous activity. It's not always active and many monsters can't consciously activate it. It also doesn't necessarily make those sharp parts feel soft, rather it pushes back to blunt impacts that could otherwise cause harm.

In other words, monsters do indeed need to be reasonably careful in normal interactions with their husbands, at least until they become incubi (at which point they get much more durable). One reason mamono silver weapons are so often used is because a monster doesn't have to hold back or worry about actually causing injury with them. Only some monsters like mersharks have that sort of power built in that can be used at any time.

>A lot of the technology she assisted humans in making were related to exploiting the weaknesses of monsters, especially spirit weapons that were fueled by human spirit energy and willpower. These weapons had all sorts of shapes and abilities, all designed in weakening a monster without seriously harming her.

Mamono mana inherently erodes other types of mana. Weapons fueled by human essence would thus be inherently less effective than otherwise.

Besides, new technology to weaken monsters without killing them is rather unnecessary when realm silver weapons work on monsters just as they do on humans.

Also, the Mist Continent's Land of the Four Souls called. They say "Promethea" is doing what they've been doing for centuries.
