Just got done with the second chapter of Higurashi's question stories. I'm fucking floored at the quality of this. The first chapter could almost be dismissed as "wuaow cute girls being muderous isn't that wacky", and to its credit, the story has lots of compelling things happening, and the ending was amazing, but Watanagashi throws out a bona fide mystery/horror story. EVERYTHING you think is predictable just isn't. I'm amazed at 07th's abilities. I didn't know what to expect, but holy shit I cannot wait to dive into ch. 3 this week. Now I'm ducking out before someone spoils me.

P.S. Satoko's dialogue is hilarious, at least with this translation. I just cannot imagine an 8-11 year old speaking like this.
