the j-pop akb48 make isnt't influenced by shibuya-kei either. it sounds like 90's american mainstream pop. the most unique pop made in japan right now is probably still producer nakata's stuff, since he is basically ahead of everyone in the world in terms of electro pop. if only his band members could sing and he didn't autotune so much.

Actually, anything Nakata touches pretty much turns to gold, so any of the other artists he's produced (Coltemonhika, Perfume, MEG - her Secret Adventure single is rocks -, Nagisa Cosmetic, and all contemode artists) will produce similar awesome results.
