I learned Japanese for Kangoku Senkan 2 but it was fairly mediocre and I didn't enjoy it that much so you could say it happened to me.
Luckily there's lots of porn games in the sea. I now recognize it as folly to learn JP for one thing in particular rather than for the personal growth and the hundreds, thousands of good things in general.
