I see people talking about Suzuya's CVL Kai Ni, but nothing thinking about the "Why" in terms of why this idea is being considered.

Belive or not, there is some docments that point that that following the battle of Midway after Japan lost 4 of its 4 Major Carriers that they were looking for alternatives to be able to create another carrier force.

One plan was supposedly to convert the Mogami-class into Light Carriers along with the Ibuki-class. But for some reason, this was not seriously considered (Ibuki would however get the CVL conversion plan) and was thus dropped in favor of the Aviation Cruiser Conversion plans which were offically approved for the Mogami-class.

Historically, as we should know, only Mogami recovered her Aviation Cruiser remodel. The other 3 were planned but they never happened and were sunk before it could happen.

I know people here have mentioned about Suzuya's Surface / AA mix Aviation Cruiser remodel plans before, but I know most of you haven't really brought up the CVL idea that is otherwise very hard to find.
