A "nice" tail is long and thick while being appropriately proportioned to the body especially when it has no fur. Of course it all depends on the species. A succubus' tail should be thinner than a dragon's. I hate it when artists give succubi tails that are pencil thin. The tail should ideally be long enough to wrap around a man's torso or at least the leg or arm.
Then there are cases like that alien girl from hushabye. It is thick but not overly so and it is very long. It is also strong enough to support her own weight and almost turns her into a pseudo-lamia. That is also a very nice tail.
For a dragon example, Tohru's tail is a bit too thick IMO, it almost looks cartoony. The length is also somewhat lacking (It does seem to vary depending on the scene and she can probably change its length so that is a moot point.) It is not a bad tail but not my ideal one.
