She's not unpopular. It's hard to tell. The only real gauges are popularity polls and fanart volume. She ranks in the high 40s (out of about 200 characters) in 2ch polls, but she's got/is tagged in 14k fanart images on Pixiv (which is a respectable amount.) Compare that to about 10k for Futo, who polls much more popular (mid 20s in 2013 nicovideo poll,) and over 40k for Sakuya (undisputed queen of 5th stage bosses, if you don't count Yuuka.)

It's pretty safe to say she's the third least popular stage 5 boss not including Highly Responsive to Prayers and the Phantasmagoria games.

She's more popular than Yumeko (Mystic Square) and Mima (Story of Eastern Wonderland only had 5 stages, so Mima is technically a stage 5 boss.) And don't let the rabid Mima fanbase fool you, it's an extremely vocal minority.

Everything about Shou is, her 'weapon' isn't even meant for actual combat.

It's thanks to the new fighter that I've opened my eyes toward the new characters as much as I have. After all the speculation of the roster and who would be a good fit, Shou jumped up to one of my more favored Touhous. Although, I still think Nue would be great in a fighter.

Am I the only person who likes Shou? Feels like she's nonexistent on /jp/.
