It's a disservice to games as most people consider 80 a good score. Anything under is passable or bad. It's not me lots of place consider this almost every gaming website I know thinks like this, my opinion changed by seeing all these places that viewed things as such.

People like you rate video games and give 50s to average games and consider 70s above average.
I used to do this too, but now video games and things in general 70 or 60 is a bad score.
By giving a score of 70 to a good game many people who consider 80 a good game would think of the 70 as shit or mediocre.

That's how it is a disservice.
I normally would give good games 70 but now if I were to do that I would get responses like this.

It's not just me.
Take a look at tv cooking shows where they rate food, a 7 is considered could do better or not really acceptable, and 8 is good.

Games like Masseffect androdyma are considered horrible and a flop yet get 60s and 70s and people laugh at their scores.
I repeat they laugh and mock it. 70 is a bad score to gamers.
People got Angry and Dossed reviewers for giving 70s to games like BOTW, they considered 70 a bad score.

Giving 70 to anything is a bad score in the current year. If you said it was a good score 10 years ago I'd believe you but that really isn't the case now.

Feel free to continue thinking like that but the truth is, tv, film, video games almost all major reviewers think like this now.
People aim for the stars now. 70 isn't really acceptable.
