>The StartInfo.txt file that is generated when you try starting the EXE tells you what region it detects your OS to be (0x411 is Japan, others are not japan). For the longest time I coudn't figure out what hkl_low value represented but I just discovered it is you default keyboard input language. Even though I had Japanese as an alternate input method, I had to set it as the default for this value to change.
>Doing this along with changing your regional settings (timezone, location, unicode defaults) to Japanese and starting the game up with Ntleac finally did it for me. You may even be able to copy this method in Windows 7 and bypass the XP mode VM altogether. Would need to see what values in that file don't match up to 0x411 to see what you need to do to get it to start.
