Sticking a fumo on the broom is harder, since you need to find someplace on the fumo that will allow it to stay on the broom (such as, say, a bow wrapped around the broom's handle), AND it changes the center of balance of the broom. Sakuya fell a couple of times, but that's okay, as she landed on Youmu and Youmu is soft.

I stopped doing stuff with my fumos because I was unable to, not because of other posters. I've always ignored the distractors. I'm going to be doing more soon though, hopefully.

Then, once you have the broom stood up, you have to sit on the broom and balance it some more. Marisa is probably the most skilled at this. Fin!
