Seija's design is pretty simple, honestly. The whole focus of her design is to highlight the contradictory, opposing nature of the amanojaku. She isn't really based off any specific deity or story, but rather on the general idea of what an amanojaku is, based on the various stories featuring them and the religious background surrounding them. Therefore, it makes sense that her design is full of clashing colors and opposites. You have the patterns of up and down arrows making up the hem of her dress and the little flap on the back of her collar, the upside down bow she wears around her waist, and her wearing only one bracelet on one arm representing this. It bears worth mentioning that Seija's relationship with Sukuna is based on the story of Urikohime, as she, the amanojaku, tricks Sukuna into letting her into her castle and ends up abusing the powers of the Miracle Mallet, much like how the amanojaku in the story of Urikohime tricked the princess into letting it into her home whereupon the amanojaku took advantage of her (by eating her and wearing her skin).

Really, we just know very little about Seija despite the fact we spent not only a whole game trying to stop a rebellion she instigated, but also another game where we helped her avoid capture while fighting almost every single person in Gensokyo. The only things we know for sure is that she:
1. Somehow acquired the Miracle Mallet
2. Heard how only Inchlings can use the power of the Mallet
3. Delved into the belly of (Old) Hell(?) to meet Sukuna
It's typically assumed that she is a Gensokyo-born youkai, but we really don't know much else aside from that. It's unlikely she'll be expanded upon like other characters who have caused incidents given her nature and temperament, which is fitting to her contrarian nature as a character.
