Artist here. That's isn't happening. A single retweet is more helpful than a thousand pixiv likes, because more people see your work.
Artists need popularity to sell stuff and make a living. I have gotten into the top 100 pixiv ranking and it made absolutely no difference. Posting art on pixiv is like shouting to a wall. You basically get nothing out of it.
