I'm going to guess that you have a decent amount of talent at some sort of art form and enjoy it to a degree that you think it would probably be a good idea to get a degree in it. Don't. Keep doing whatever you enjoy AS A HOBBY, but learn some sort of generalized business skill. A degree in art, if it lands you a job at all, will land you a job that will drain EVERY last ounce of fun out of what you do. It will become hell. You will feel nauseous and anxious just thinking about it. It will ruin you. And when you come home, the absolute last thing on your mind is going to be doing it some more.

I made that mistake long ago, and it nearly destroyed me. Suffice it to say that my brief time in art school actually destroyed most of the interest in film & video I once had.
