Tamakazura from Tale of Genji, now enshrined in Tamakazura Jinja. This is mentioned in David Chart's An Introduction to Shinto.

Did you post in the first thread? I think "being on the fence" about this subject is very generous, hehe. But something to consider - apparently some time before his death Jung was asked "what are the boundaries of the individual" and he replied "none, they are infinite". Where is the psyche of an infinite being, anon?`

You're a grown woman playing with toy robots, Sanae. Go clean the prayer hall before you embarrass the shrine further. Polish the komainu while you're there, oh, and the left side of the shrine grounds need some sweeping. We've got some pipe leakage in the kitchen, too, so go fix that while you're there. Also, adjust the shimenawa on the shrine entrance. I'm gonna need you to go down to the village too and get me a burger from that new fast food place, and while you're down there, build a new branch shrine. Kanako paced around the room. Suwako was likely teasing her, but the idea seemed sound. If the two shrines were to be connected by marriage, then their influence and thus faith would increase by leaps and bounds. Rather then the bullish idea of simply taking over the Hakurei shrine, the shrines being united would allow the Hakeurei shrine to continue as a independent operation, but still allow them a degree of influence over it. It would take some retooling of her image to fit into her roles as goddess of the Moriya shrine and the protector of the Hakeurei linage (by marriage) , but she could manage that. A win win, in her books. Now that the rumors where swirling that Reimu's husband had left her , it was the perfect chance to swoop in and take him for herself . There was just one issue.

She had no idea how. She had no idea what men liked. Should she like them chase her or should she show interest? Would tossing around pillars be too much? How should she act on a date? The arts of love and seduction were well beyond her. The only person she knew that had experience in that field was Suwako, and she'd laugh at her if she asked. But even then, they'd be another issue. After she married, and to continue the alliance for future mortal lifetimes, she'd have to do that with him. She squirmed at the thought. A goddess admitting she never even kissed someone to a mortal man that had more sex in his mere decades then in her thousands of years? She'd probably have to do it plenty of times, one child wouldn't be enough to secure her position. She groaned. Maybe she'd ask Suwako for advice after all.....
