The original argument against CP was that a child had to be harmed in the making of it.

Trying to ban fictional material is a case of "stop making things I don't like".

There's the argument that depicting it increases the prevalence of it in the real world, but I don't think anyone has ever managed to prove such a thing; as far as I know, studies find the opposite: that it provides an outlet and prevents real world incidents. Such ideas might as well be voodoo.

The Westerners who fanatically preach tolerance and equality only want it when it benefits themselves. If they don't like it, it is evil and cannot be allowed, even if it isn't negatively affecting anyone. Even if by not allowing it, they're negatively affecting people. Unprovable rationalisations for how it maybe be negatively affecting something is highly dishonest.

The concept of saying something is too "bad" to even be drawn is a real sign that society is nowhere near as developed as it would immediately seem. There will come a time when our society is going to seem just as backwards as medieval society seems to us now, but most people won't even consider this. In their minds, we've reached the end of development; for real, this time, we've discovered what is right, and this is never going to change again.

It's probably only a matter of time until Japan falls into the same insanity as the rest of the developed world. Not just on pornography.
