Maybe it's me but, when it comes to Touhou I can get it. It's an indy dev and a whole legion of fans producing content based on his work. It grew and grew but it's still very much indy as fuck.

And then you get Kankolle that rides this military wave that arose after the earthquakes and tsunamis made the military popular because they helped everyone combined with NK posturing. It's commercial as fucking milking everything and Kadokawa is swiming in money.

And whats worse. Most of the girls are pretty generic compared to Touhou ones.
